SALERNA VINEYARD
OUR GRANDPA’S VINEYARD
WHERE THE COMPANY WAS BORN
The family estate and the vineyard turn towards Mount San Vicino and the proximity to Esino River ensures a difference in temperature which provides freshness to the soil.
The vineyard takes its name from “via Salerna”, the old unpaved road that led from the center of Cupramontana towards the surrounding countryside. The medium altitude and the clayey soil are ideal for producing fresh and young wines
The history of the Salerna vineyard is the history of the Verdicchio.
It’s here that in 1990 the Salerna, Verdicchio DOC dei Castelli di Jesi was born.
A young fresh straw-yellow wine with evident greenish highlights. Floral and fruity aromas typical of the grape type, with a prevalence of acacia flowers, white fruit, star anise and hints of citrus and almond. Rich and soft to the palate with a slightly mineral finish.
In 2016 the company decided to undertake organic production by expanding the Salerna plot with the purchase of the first vineyard aimed at organic cultivation. This decision inaugurates a new path for the Sparapani family, aimed at maintaining solid traditions and respect for the territory to which they belong with the prospect of aligning themselves with the new trends and needs of today’s market.
