The cradle of Sparapani wines.

Before the winery, before the harvest, there is a place that shapes the soul of Sparapani wines. It is the valley that embraces the vineyards: a harmonious landscape of light, balanced altitudes, and generous soils, representing the true cradle of Sparapani’s identity.

Here lie three emblematic vineyards—Donna Cloe, del Priore, and Salerna—each distinct in character and nuance, yet united by the same spirit and the same valley. Planted in 1970, these vineyards have been in dialogue with time for over half a century, benefiting from an ideal microclimate and naturally favorable conditions for cultivation.

The story of these vineyards is also one of patience and balance. It begins with a single hectare in the early 1980s and grows slowly, never forced: small plots acquired over time, thoughtful decisions, steps taken one at a time. Year after year, harvest after harvest, the vineyard surface has gradually expanded to 20 hectares, while preserving its deep connection to the land and its natural vocation.

The qualities of the soil and climate are enhanced by attentive and respectful work: constant scientific monitoring accompanies every stage of ripening, while hand harvesting ensures a careful selection of the finest grapes. Nothing is left to chance, yet nothing is rushed. The vineyard is listened to, observed, and guided with care.

OUR VINEYARDS

Vigneto del Priore

Just a few steps from the estate lies Poggio Cupro, the highest of the winery’s crus, located on the northwest slope, with vineyards stretching along a broad ridge facing south. The soil is mainly composed of fine-textured clay, which favors water absorption and gradually releases it to the vine roots. Wines produced in this area typically display broad, sun-filled aromas, reflecting the influence of altitude and the winds that sweep across the vines.

It is here that, in 1996, Il Priore was born — Verdicchio DOC dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore.

Vigneto Donna Cloe

The Castellaro vineyard is truly unique. It rises along a wide south-facing slope and is vertically divided by the family estate, positioned exactly at its center. This allows for a careful selection of grapes based on the vintage and the different altitudes within the vineyard. The size and structure of the land give each small parcel its own distinctive character, expressed through structure, freshness, and minerality.

The selection of grapes from this vineyard has made it possible, since 2009, to produce the Riserva DOCG “Donna Cloe,” dedicated to the firstborn of the third Sparapani generation.

Vigneto Salerna

The family estate and vineyard face Mount San Vicino and are located near the Esino River, whose presence creates significant temperature variations that bring freshness to the entire growing area. The vineyard takes its name from Via Salerna, an ancient country road that runs from the village of Cupramontana into the surrounding countryside, crossing the historic vineyards of the Sparapani family. This predominantly clay-based area, at moderate altitude, is ideal for producing young, fresh wines.

It is here that, in 1990, Salerna was born — Verdicchio DOC dei Castelli di Jesi.

It is in these vineyards that the character of Sparapani wines takes shape: in the light that touches the rows, in the wind that crosses the valley, and in the daily care of a craft built on time, knowledge, and respect.
It is here that everything begins.
